This paper aimed to determine burnout level in a high-perfomance group of tennis players, as well as to stablish the existing relationship between motivational outlook and burnout levels, as well as the effects of sociodemografic variables. With this purpose, we have sampled 84 elite young tennis players from two high-perfomance tennis academies, and asked them to complete the Burnout Inventory for Athletes and the Sports Goal Orientation Scale. The results of this research shows that 4,8% of sampled population manifests burnout in all its dimensions and a statistically significant relationship between the time devoted to training and the dimensions of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization. Finally, there is a statistically significant negative correlation between the variable of orientation towards the task and the limited personal realization for those tennis players studied.
