RESUMO

Concepci³n E. Tuero y Ren© Gonz¡lez-Boto

The aim of this study was to identify and understand habits of indoor swimming pool users, to know satisfaction during practice and the influence exerted by sports instructors in the process, considering edge and sex of the participants. The study sample consisted of 251 adult subjects, who were administered a questionnaire to assess the abovementioned categories. The results show that swimming pool users, especially women and older age groups, preferred organised water activities, held a predominantly non-competitive concept of aquatic activities linked to the social, affective and individual well-being, reported an acceptable level of satisfaction, and that sports instructors exerted a positive emotional influence on users among older age groups. Social and affective variables analyzed determined the use of the swimming pool, with differences according to age and gender.
