Present research try to know about task characteristics and leadership, and also explore if peer leadership is lined up to formal leader as the captain. About this variable it was tried to know how leadership culture in sport can affect. The EELD-24 (Torrado & Arce, 2015), and questions oriented to evaluate task profile, were applied to a 219 men athletes sample (132 from soccer and 87 from basketball). It was observed that type of sport determines task profile and captaincy development of peer leaders. In soccer, minus than a half of peer leaders are captains (44.2%), standing out for them more the position in the field than level of performance. In basketball, most of leaders are captains (77.1), but in them is more important level of performance than position in the team structure during the game. Results diminish the importance of previous research about influence of task profile (Moran y Weiss, 2006).
