POTENCIALES RELACIONADOS A EVENTOS COGNITIVOS EN PSICOLOG?A DEL DEPORTE

resumen

Doris Hern?¡ndez Barros

Event-related potentials have been widely used to assess how the human brain normally processes information. Furthermore, these techniques have allowed us to know about how this processing may go awry in neurological or psychiatric disorders. However, a limited number of papers about the usefulness of these objective psychophysiological techniques have been published. In this paper, there is a revision of main event-related potentials described in scientific literature and its application in sport psychology. The main goal of this study was to contribute to the spreading of these techniques and to provide new objective tools to the study of normal and deviated cognitive processes in high performance athletes.
