This study aims to verify the existence of differences between groups of practitioners, age and gender on emotional intelligence and satisfaction with life, as well as describe the relationship between these two variables. Four hundred and forty eight teenagers filled the Emotional Quotient Inventory: Youth Version (EQ-i:YV) and Satisfaction With life Scale (SWLS). The IE and life satisfaction indicated by adolescents involved in sports Federated was significantly higher compared with non-practitioners. Practitioners are not federal also indicated a perception of interpersonal IE significantly higher than non-practitioners. Gender and age had not shown to influence EI and in life’s satisfaction among the teenagers sample, with the exception of some EI factors at a gender level. These results showed that EI and life’s satisfaction are closed associated with sports activity.
