Statistical analysis showed that only applied in the variable trust had differences related to gender (men had a better score than women). In the other variables (motivation, attention, emotional sensitivity, imagination, positive attitude and challenge) were not found to be statistically significant differences, either between classes or between sexes. Decatypes analysis of each of the dimensions of the instrument indicates that the profile obtained does not correspond with the psychological traits of an ideal high-level athlete, although participants had the most competitive performance of the country. These findings were similar in both men and women in both categories. The implementation of a mental model sports preparation, therefore, is essential for improving the psychological traits found and provide better sports performance.
