PHYSICAL-SPORTS ACTIVITY AND FAMILIAR CONTEXT: PREDICTING VARIABLES OF TOBACCO CONSUMPTION AMONG SPANISH ADOLESCENTS

The aim of this study has been to build a model of tobacco consumption among young spanish people, depending on independent variables. A questionnaire to 6170 students aged 12 to 19 years (M = 14.12; SD = 1.30) were administered. Descriptive analysis and multinomial logistic regression were used for testing relationship between variables and to calculate odds ratio. Results show that girls smoke with major frequency although the young males smoke in major quantity. As the age of the subjects also increases the number of young people who are declared smoking makes it. Being sedentary appears to increase the probability of consume more tobacco. In conclusion, we can say that the family environment smoker stands as a risk factor for cigarette smoking and habitual alcohol consumption is associated with the snuff and set as the main risk factor for consumption and intake of snuff.
