Burnout Levels among Special Education Teachers of Children with Special Needs Regarding Socio-Demographic Variables

The term burnout represents a psychological and emotional state among those working in the field of education, especially in the field of special education. The study aimed to assess the level of burnout among special education teachers based on a number of demographic characteristics, such as years of experience, gender, and educational background. There were 79 male and female teachers in the study sample chosen from several special institutions in Zarqa, Jordan; The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) was used in the study in order to accomplish its goals. The results of the study indicated that burnout was moderate, and that emotional exhaustion (EE) was high in respect to the scale's dimensions.
