THE IMPACT OF MEDIA CAMPAIGNS ON AWARENESS OF WATER CRISES: A CASE STUDY OF THE ETHIOPIAN RENAISSANCE DAM CRISIS AND ITS EFFECT ON WATER SECURITY IN EGYPT

This research aims to study the impact of media campaigns on awareness of water crises, focusing on the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam crisis and its effect on water security in Egypt, specifically applied to Cairo Governorate. A descriptive-analytical methodology was employed, gathering data through a questionnaire distributed to a random sample of Cairo residents, along with content analysis of media materials related to the Renaissance Dam crisis. The results highlight the crucial role of media campaigns in enhancing public knowledge and influencing community behavior towards the Renaissance Dam crisis. The research underscores the urgent need for increased media campaigns to provide platforms for public discourse and raise awareness about water challenges.
