EFFECTS OF THE TYPE AND AMOUNT OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY ON PERCEIVED PSYCHOLOGICAL HEALTH OF TEACHERS

Anxiety problems, depression and stress, have been spread among teachers causing absence from work. Regular physical activity has beneficial effects on health of people. Therefore this study aims assess the effect of practising physical activity on perceived psychological health and job strain of a group of teachers, analyzing the differences according to the type of physical activity. 69 teachers were grouped in: sedentary, ocassional physical activity and regular physical activity. The results show significant differences between the group of sedentary and regular physical activity. In addition, it is observed that in the Job Strain variable there are significant differences in the type and amount of physical activity.
