THE EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES AND TEACHING MODELS OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

This article aims to analyze the perception of the educational purposes of the Physical Education of teachers involved in different models of teaching in the area in the elementary school. The participants were 7 teachers from a Grouping of Schools of the District of Aveiro (Portugal). Of qualitative nature, the study used documentary analysis, semi-structured interviews and a questionnaire, which were analyzed in terms of content. The main results point to the lack of conceptual clarity of teachers, regardless of the teaching model, which shows the low value of PE in the curricular development of the elementary school.
