    FEAR OF SUCCESS IN COMPETITIVE ATHLETES: A STUDY FROM THE THEORY OF SUBJECTIVITY

    The present work sought to understand the emerging subjective productions in competitive athletes who express fear of success. The study, inspired by González-Rey's theory of subjectivity, developed a cross-sectional qualitative and descriptive-interpretive methodology based on semi-structured interviews conducted with five athletes. The results show how success is neither the only nor the main focus of competitive athletes, since other subjective processes linked to social and affective recognition strengthen their motivation and confidence to face high sporting challenges. In this way, and by way of conclusion, the sports context, more than a space of popularity, social growth (fame) or economic, is a path of personal growth characterized by the creation of subjective resources that allow facing both sports and problems. of life in general...
