The present study aims to monitor the psychophysiological recovery process in elite athletes of the Spanish National Ski Mountaineering Team (n = 6) during a basic mesocycle structured in three training load microcycles. Throughout this period, daily evaluations have been carried out through the Ecological Momentary Assessment, evaluating the heart rate variability and the psychobiological perceived recovery status each morning at rest. The results show a positive relationship between the square root of the sum of the squared differences of the RR intervals and the perceived recovery status of the resting data in the four male athletes (rho = .453, p = .03; rho = .550, p = .045; rho=.719. p = .09; rho = .571, p = .087). The paper proposes the unified interpretation between both resting parameters to evaluate the response to training.
